Submission Deadline: December 1, 11:59 PM | Please be prepared to take needed photographs of your work within the next few weeks.
How to register & submit pieces:
Submission Details:
Note: if your piece needs to be installed in a specific manner, you will need to provide all installation materials. Exceptions to this are materials used to hang 2D work (push pins, map pins, etc.). The Granoff Center has some installation materials (such as pedastals) avaliable for the exhibition to use, but materials are limited and not guaranteed.
If you wish to submit a proposal instead of an already completed project, follow the previous process, but instead of submitting photos of your work, please follow the following guidelines. Note that works that are incomplete on the December 1st submission date that the Committee would like to consider for the exhibition, will require an additional review upon completion. Images of completed work and any updates to the original proposal must be submitted by December 20, 2019.
2D/3D Proposal Guidelines:
While we encourage you to think big, please keep in mind that there are limitations on hanging in the space and you are responsible for all clean-up during the de-installation process. Your proposal submission to the exhibition committee should include photographs or sketches, materials used, detailed plans for installation, and a brief artist statement (approximately 200 words) explaining how your installation relates to the exhibition theme. Should your proposal be selected, you should be prepared to be present for installation of your work to coordinate with the BRDD installation subcommittee and BAI Staff. All work must be dropped off on January 6th and 7th, 2019 and installation will occur on January 9th, 10th and 13th. All work should be removed from the space promptly at the end of the exhibition. Spaces for an installation would be the Cohen Gallery on the first floor, the living room spaces on the stairs, and potentially one of the Project Studios. You may propose any type of work, but be sure to include plenty of documentation.
Performance Proposal Guidelines:
You can submit a proposal for an incomplete piece or for a performance during opening night.
During our public reception, there is plenty of space for a performance or live music event. During your submission, please include a description of your performance, including relevant information such as the duration, space needs, materials, equipment, etc. Please be very specific with the materials you will be using, and if there are any materials you are expected us to provide. We will also need a brief artist statement (approximately 200 words) explaining how your performance responds to the exhibition theme. You will be responsible for all set-up and breaking down necessary equipment directly following the performance.
Please contact brddexhibition@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding specific works.
